Milkweed is food source to Monarch caterpillars and also providing nectar for butterflies, bees, wasps, and ants. Milkweed’s genus name Asclepius, is derived from the Greek god of medicine and healing. The ancient symbol (modified today), representing the original ‘Rod of Asclepius’, is often used as a modern symbol in medical practices. This card summons you to recognize any untapped healer abilities you may possess. Keep in mind that the healing arts can be displayed and facilitated in many ways. Perhaps you have an exceptional ear for listening. Do not disregard the valuable healing effects this provides for others. There is much restorative power in what goes unspoken, by simply listening.
There may however be areas in which you yourself seek healing. Here, Milkweed encourages you tend to this, apply love, patience and self-compassion to these areas, as you would another.
In order for true healing to take hold, all areas of your being must be addressed. The ultimate healing remedy is to remember and accept that you and all others are whole, body, mind and spirit.
